Is Steve Kates a good husband?
I guess the fundamental question is, were the animals at the Long Island Reptiles Museum in danger?
I would like character witnesses (good or bad) to come forward and enlighten me on this one. Was Steve taking care of those animals in a responsible way, when the SPCA seized them without a warrant?
If not, then he got screwed, severely.
Mr. Kates is filing suit against the SPCA.
Again if you have any information that would denigrate or exonerate Mr. Kates of these claims of animals mis-management, I would love to hear them.

Steve Kates only cares about himself and his own well being, so to answer your question- No, he did not care for those animals the way he should have. The animals were there to make money for him. The KIDS that worked at the museum ran it and took care of those animals as best as they could with the limited funds Steve provided. It is my understanding that his money went to his underage girlfriend's shopping needs before it went to any animal care. He is convinced that he knows more than anyone else when it comes to caring for the animals and his business. He may be knowledgeable, but his arrogance supercedes that knowledge. I belive that he THOUGHT he was handling the situation correctly when LIPA shut off his power, what he really did was the bare minimum at the least expense to him. That is not someone who cares about the well being of his animals. It is evident that he ran his business almost as sloppy as he runs his personal life.
Are you aware that he left his first wife for his 15-year-old daughter's best friend (also 15 at the time)? That is the type of person you are talking about. How much could he possible care about those animals if he didn't care about the irreversible damage he was causing to his family?
Well then. I guess that seals that one up.
Although, his actions with the nubile minor are to be commended *_*
